Do your homework before bringing your vehicle in for servicing.

You know your car best. You use it every day and know how it sounds and feels when all the components are working as they should. So don’t ignore warning signs.

Use your senses to inspect your vehicle regularly. Be on the lookout for the following:

Unusual gauge readings, odors, smoke, drips, sounds, leaks, and warning lights.
Changes in fluid levels, engine performance, gas mileage, and acceleration.
Worn belts, hoses, and tires.
Issues with braking, vibrations, steering, and handling.
Note when the issue arises.
Is it periodic or constant?
Does it occur when after the engine warms up or when your vehicle is cold?
Does it occur at all speeds, under acceleration, during braking, or when shifting?
When did you first notice the problem?
